Passed away May 15, 2018, at Calvary Hospital, Bronx, NY.
Born August 29, 1941 to Philip M and Roselin Cable. They predeceased him.
Charles is survived by two sons, Tim Cable(Christy) and Tom Cable (Jody). Brothers: Philip H (Phyllis) Cable, Raymond (Patty) Cable,  and. Leon Cable. Sisters: Ruth Bales and Marilyn Thomas,  And Granddaughter, Charlee Rae Cable.
Also survived by several nieces and nephews and life partner Mary Shallenberger.
Charles was a well known and respected Farrier in Goshen, NY, Florida, Ohio and Michigan. He learned his trade from his Father and in turn passed that knowledge of shoeing to his sons.
A celebration of life will be held at the Goshen Historic Race Track on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 12:00 noon. Officiated By Rev. DR. Lise Worthington.
All are welcome to attend.  In lieu of flowers,  memorials may be made to:
HARNESS RACING MUSEUM & HALL OF FAME, 240 Main St. GOSHEN, NY 10924
or GOSHEN HISTORIC TRACK, 44 PARK PLACE  Goshen, NY 10924
Burial will be in Effingham, IL at St. Anthony Cemetery beside his parents.

    I enjoyed my time meeting Chuck on the occasions that I did.
    I’m so sorry to his Life partner Mary Shallenberger of 39 years who was Chuck’s love of his life.
    Her life will never be the same with his loss.
    My heartfelt sympathies go towards her.
    Chuck is now suffering no more and he’s with our Heavenly Father.

    RIP my dear friend..i will miss you so much and how you always took care of my horses especially jack. I enjoyed having dinner with you and mary sitting by the firepit and you telling funny jokes. You were one of a kind and i will miss you so much. You have your wings..fly free chuck… you may be in heaven but i will never forget you. Prayers to your family and friends…

    I too only met Chuck a few times, but he was always kind and sweet to me. I loved his sense of humor, which his jokes, always cracked me up.
    You will be missed Chuck by so many people. You have your wings now, and you are out of pain. Prayers to all of his family and especially Mary who shared so many great years with him. RIP Charles Cable.

    recently, I learned that chuck was in nyc. i learned of his passing here, just yesterday. once i learned he was in the city, i kept my eyes and ears open, but learned i missed his remembrance ceremony, today. that leaves a void for me, as i so wanted to pay my respects to him. chuck always treated me like gold, and anybody that knew chuck that was something you felt like you earned. i spent a lot of time with Charles, and it will be cherished, but more missed. Effingham Illinois, i knew chuck came from, he referred to it as the crossroads of America. never been there, but i know one thing-they make good people there. i miss you chuck, chris berger
